ABOUT ACADEMY

The Accademia Costume & Moda offers courses legally recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universitied and Research under the body that rules Artistic Higher Education. Culture, Design and Craftmanship linked to a laboratorial approach are the key points of the School’s educational mission; the objective is to help the students start their careers, supporting them in the process of recognising and consolidating their creative identity.

The Accademia di Costume e di Moda has both a long tradition and experience in training and education within the Costume and Fashion fields, qualifying itself as an centre of excellence in learning thanks to its educational offer and approach to teaching and learning. Its alumni are successful and accomplished designers and fashion professionals working within a huge variety of areas within the Fashion System or working as Costume Designers for important productions both at both national and international levels.

The Accademia releases Academic titles equal to Undergraduate Programs (180 credits) and Master’s Degrees Programs (60 credits), and attendance certificates for its Post Graduate, Intensive and Summer School Programs.

PROGRAMS 

The Three Year Undergraduate Programs

The Three Year Undergraduate Programs are offered to students who are willing to work in the ares of “Fashion, Accessories & Costume Design” or “Fashion Editing, Styling & Communication” or “Media Design & Arts”. All those who have successfully completed a Secondary High School Diploma or equivalent, achieved both nationally and internationally may be admitted to our Undergraduate Programs.

All of the single subjects help the students develop design and technical competences through a cultural, experimental and laboratorial approach. The objective is to facilitate careers placement at the end of the program. Our approach is around the students and objectives are often achieved by supporting her/him in building and consolidating a unique creative identity. Creativity must be continuous, and cultural subjects like history of fashion, of Art, of Cinema and Theatre are the platform on which to foster one’s own inspiration.

Our Career & Placement Office helps the student in finding an internship or job opportunity, and supports the student from the development of his/her portfolio, through the interview process up to the signature of the contract.

COURSE LANGUAGES

• The I Level Academic Diploma in Costume & Fashion Design (180 ECTS) is in Italian
• The I Level Academic Diploma in Fashion Editor – Styling & Communication is in English and Italian
• The I Level Academic Diploma in Media design & Visual Arts is in English and Italian

Price – € 12,500/year

Master’s Degree

The First Level Academic Master’s Degree Programs are One Year Courses with a total amount of 1.500 hours, which includes professional internships in companies operating within the areas of interest of the degree.

They are addressed to those who want to complete their education career with an intensive academic path finalised to a direct acquisition of competences, experience and relations, useful for a smooth entrance in the professional world. To be admitted to the Master’s Degree Programs, candidates need to have an Undergraduate Degree.

The First Level Master’s Degree Programs offer 60 ECTS Credits, internationally valid and are recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research.

Price – € 21,500 for year

Vocational Courses

The Vocational Courses are developed to deepening knowledge and acquiring new skills through professional training courses characterized by direct involvement of the business world players. Developed on a weekend-formula for the needs of candidates who want to pursue their own study and/or work cycle, or accompanying them to a study experience in the areas of fashion design, styling and communication. In order to maintain a high level in the quality of studies, the course has a closed number of places.

Intensive Courses

The Intensive Courses of the Accademia are developed for those who want to specialise in well-defined compartments within the areas of fashion, accessories or communication. The courses are developed as single modules and are characterised by a thorough “hands on” approach with direct transfer of competence, experience and knowledge.

Duration and start- February, 24th 2018 – 90 hours (3 months)

Summer courses

The Summer courses at the Accademia have a duration of one or two weeks (30 or 60 hours). The courses offered are introductory to a variety of subject areas of fashion, fashion communication and costume design, and provide basic tools useful to define student’s awareness and enable career choices.

Rome and extracurricular activities:
ACM Summer Courses include visits to Museums/Exhibitions that relate to the area of study. Students will have time to explore all that the city of Rome has to offer and will be given advice and support from the academy to culturally explore and make the most of their free time while in Rome.
